Henri Matisse (1869–1954) was a French master of modernist art and leader of the revolutionary Fauvist movement. After initially pursuing law, he discovered his artistic calling while recovering from illness in 1890 and quickly established himself as a transformative figure in twentieth-century visual culture. Matisse's distinctive style emphasized expressive use of color, flowing contours, luminous patches, and bold flatness that challenged traditional perspective. Works such as Woman with a Hat, The Red Studio, and The Dance exemplify his bold chromatic vision and innovative approach to composition. Fine Art Paper is a higher quality cotton rag paper more like watercolor paper. The ink will soak in more and give a lighter slightly textured appearance. Prices shown are printed full bleed (No white border) but can be printed with a 2" printed border on request.
Rolled Canvas is our standard matte canvas with a natural artist-grade finish. Ships with a 2" white border for stretching, gallery edge (Extra image on sides) is available on request please message me for details.
Rolled Premium Canvas is a semi-gloss canvas with a brighter finish and richer color depth than our standard rolled canvas — closer to the look of a varnished gallery print.
