This is a great add on for an existing blue beatlee setup or to start a new desert beatlee group with lots of variety. Each species has its own unique personality, so it's really fun and interesting to watch them. All the beatlees can be kept together in the same tank. Buy 4 or more beatlees and save 15%!
Choose from the following 7 different species:
Blue Dth Feigning (Asbolus verrucosus), Smooth Dth Feigning (Asbolus laevis), Rough Dth Feigning (Cryptoglossa muricata), Black Ironclad (Zopherus tristis), Ant Head Darkling (Cerenopus concolor) and Armored Stink Beatlee (Eleodes armata). Note: If any of the items show out of stock or is less than the quantity you would like to order, please message me and I'll update the inventory. Ebay limits how many items I can put in stock so often times the number in stock shows lower than what I actually have.
To order, select the species you want and the quantity. Click on 'add to cart' then continue to select the other species you want and the quantity and then click "add to cart". If you click 'buy it now' it will add shipping to each item. So to save on shipping, be sure to click "add to cart" until you are finished. If you have any questions or make a mistake, feel free to message me and I will respond asap.
You can find more information and images on each of the above species by going to bugguide.net. Type in the species name in the search bar. Here is a brief description of each:
Asbolus verrucosus, commonly known as the blue dth feigning beatlee. This is the most popular pet beatlee in the US. They have a slight blue coloration to them and are very robust and can be extremely long lived.
Asbolus laevis, commonly known as the black smooth dth feigning beatlee. Similar to A verrucosus but has smooth black elytra.
Cyrptoglossa muricata, commonly known as the black rough dth feigning beatlee. Slightly smaller than the blue dth feigning beatlee and has a black textured elytra.
Zopherus tristis, commonly known as the black ironclad. This species has very unique shape and unlike most of the other desert beatlees, walks very slowly. Sort of reminds me of an alligator walking. They can play dead when disturbed for very long periods of time, sometimes days. If you are looking for a desert beatlee that moves around a lot, this is not for you. But if you like to observe a unique species that move very slowly, this is a very cool beatlee.
Eleodes armata, commonly known as the Armored Desert Stink Beatlee. These are the largest beatlees of the group and the most active. If you like activity and large size, these are the best. They seem to have unlimited energy. They raise their butt when disturbed and kids find them really funny.
Cerenopus concolor, commonly known as the Ant Head Darkling or Ant Head Death Feigning beatlee. These look very similar to the rough dth feigning beatlees but have a more slender body shape. Their head and thorax area reminds me of an ant. They are very curious and are quite entertaining to watch as they move around the tank. They are very active and one of my favorite beatlees to watch. Less common in the hobby than some of the other beatlees so very underrated. There are also very easy to breed. So it's a great species to start the adventure of breeding desert beatlees.
